Marked Electrical ServicesIf you will be anchoring your mobile office or connecting to underground city services, don’t forget to call 811 to identify and mark buried underground services before your modular building is delivered. Read on to learn what you need to know before you dig.

811 is a free federal service used for locating and marking underground utilities. Start by getting the key site information and site contact info together. At least a few days before your delivery — sooner if possible — call 811, before you dig. Your call will be automatically routed to your local call center.

Local utility companies will be notified of your request and will send a locator to your site, usually within 2-3 business days of your call. They will mark the approximate location of your underground utility lines so you can dig safely. Your 811 representative should be able to give you an estimate as to how long your wait time will be.

Once their work is complete, dig carefully around the marked areas on your site to avoid damaging buried utility lines.
